National Unity Platform (NUP) Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has successfully been nominated to contest as a presidential candidate in the 2021 general elections on Tuesday November 2 at Kyambogo grounds.
Kyagulanyi was accompanied by 10 persons as stipulated by the Electoral Commission, including his wife who presented his nomination to the EC, Mrs. Barbara Itungo Kyagulanyi.
His team was then taken through the nomination procedures before his documents were submitted for verification by his nominators.
Seconders to Kyagulanyi’s nomination also included Members of Parliament Hon. John Baptist Nambeshe, Hon. Francis Zaake, Hon. Asuman Basalirwa, Hon. Allan Ssewanyana NUP Spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi and his brothers Nyanzi Ssentamu and Nubian Lee.
Speaking after the nomination exercise, Bob Wine addressed the media what he intends to do when he is elected President.
He said he will increase the pay of security officers in the Police, Prisons and Army forces so as to empower them and enable them operate better.
He added that the promotions in the army will be based on merit not technical know who.
