President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has warned fellow presidential candidates who intend to destabilize the election process in Uganda that they will “regret if they do those stupid things.”
Mr Tibahaburwa reminded the candidates that no one is better than the NRA/M in fighting.
“I am calling on every Ugandan to maintain peace,” he told press at the nomination grounds in Kyambogo.
He added: “I am a candidate, but as you know I am also president, and as president I hear a lot of things. I have been hearing that some people want to go and do stupid things. But I want to assure them that no one will disrupt this process. Anyone who tries will regret because we don’t play. We fought to bring peace in this nation”
He cautioned any foreigner who would wish to team with the anarchists that he/she risks losing life for nothing.
“”No one is better than us at fighting. We hear that those stupid people are working with foreigners. No foreigner will cause chaos here. You will bring death to yourself for no reason,” he said.
Tibuhaburwa was the first Presidential candidate to be nominated by the Electoral Commission at Kyambogo grounds in Kampala at 10am from where he will launch his manifesto at Speke Resort Munyonyo later in the afternoon.

Shortly after his nomination, the President urged all Ugandans to continue observing the COVID-19 health guidelines.
Museveni’s warning followed a litany of defiant messages from opposition candidates who unequivocally said they will not adhere to Electoral Commission guidelines and will move with a sea of supporters to and from their nomination.
