Col Shaban Bantariza has finally been laid to rest in Kagorogoro village, Mitooma District on Thursday at 11am.
He has been accorded full military honours with a 24-gun salute, according to Ofwono Opondo, the government spokesperson.
The deputy government spokesperson succumbed to COVID-19 on Tuesday morning at Mulago Hospital.
There has been limited number of mourners to avoid crowds because of delicate situation.
