Godfrey Kaguta Aine commonly known as Sodo has been disqualified as the NRM flagbearer for Mawogola North constituency.
Sodo’s victory had earlier been contested by his rival Shartsi Musherure Kutesa who presented evidence of multiple irregularities before the NRM Tribunal.
Sodo is President Yoweri Museveni’s brother while Musherure is Minister Sam Kutesa’s daughter.
The Mawogola NRM primaries had been postponed on grounds of violence until the polling day when Sodo defeated his rival with 1500 votes.
Speaking to this website on Sodo’s woes the NRM spokesperson Emmanuel Dombo confirmed that the NRM tribunal had found all allegations brought by Musherure valid and then forwarded the matter to CEC for action.
“I don’t know whether CEC will sit tonight because at the end of the day we need a flagbearer to be nominated tomorrow Friday,” Dombo said.
