Army, Police seal off NUP Headquarters

Police officers surround NUP head offices

National Unity Platform (NUP) head offices have Wednesday afternoon been besieged by security agents from UPDF and police.

Security broke into the offices and began a search in which a number of campaign kits were confiscated.

The kits contained red berets, t-shirts, heavy red overalls and flyers.

The NUP board executive had earlier on hosted a meeting with their youth leaders before the raid.

By the time of filing this report, a search was on going as gun wielding police officers and soldiers blocked all roads leading to Robert Kyagulanyi’s offices.

Government last year designated the red beret as an official military wear that could land members of the public who wear them in jail.

No police or military official was willing to comment on the operation when contacted.

This is a breaking story, this website is following up for more details.
