Museveni: Uganda won’t Import or Assemble buses, Uganda will Manufacture them by June 2021

Kayoola bus is assembled in Uganda.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has said Uganda has the capacity to make buses not to import and assemble parts manufactured from abroad.

Museveni said the scientists have already assured him that this arrangement will be ‘ripe’ in June 2021.

The President was Friday presiding over the the 58 years of Uganda’s independence at State House Entebbe in a celebration conducted scientifically.

“I don’t want to hear of imported buses. The buses will be built here. I also don’t want to hear of assembled buses here,” he said.

He added that, “assembling means someone else makes the bus and you bring and assemble it here. What I want to hear is fabrication. Under the Kiira Electric project, two busses have already been developed.”
