MP Nsereko steals show at FDC Presidential Debate after Amuriat, Biriggwa Failed to Turn Up

MP Nsereko at NBS on Wednesday.

Political pundits have quickly advised the FDC top administration to woo Kampala legislator Mohammad Nsereko into joining the biggest opposition establishment after he displayed exceptional capabilities during a presidential debate that was organised by NBSTV for FDC candidates which they boycotted.

Nsereko who joined Parliament as an NRM member would later turn into a dissenting voice and was expelled by the party in 2014.

He has since stood as an independent candidate but closely associates with members of the opposition.

On Wednesday night, he was requested to join the NBS- FDC presidential debate podium on short notice after two candidates seeking to to challenge President Museveni in 2021 shunned the debate.

Instead FDC sent its mouthpiece Hon Ssemujju Nganda to represent Amuriat and Biriggwa.

Ssemujju told frustrated NBS managers that his candidates couldn’t make it as they were engaged in National Council preparations that was slated for Thursday (Today) which would elect the flagbearer.

Nsereko who had been invited as a guest to watch the two great men debate however turned into the debater when NBS asked for his rescue.

He debated alongside Ssemujju on six areas, including domestic policy, foreign policy, education, health, economy and security.

Nsereko who is also the shadow Minister of Security, expressed great oratory skills, concurred the debate and controlled the moderators while unleashing alternative ideas and how he would execute should the people of Uganda offer the opposition chance to take over government.

His presence and rhetoric excited viewers who at one point forgot that the debate was meant for FDC presidential candidates.
