Kampala city residents this morning woke up to the sad news that their former Mayor, Nasser Ntege Ssebagala had died.
The aging politician who did his stint as Mayor had also recently shown interest in the mayoral seat for the upcoming elections.
Ssebagala passed on this morning at International Hospital Kampala where he had been admitted battling health complications resulting from an accidental fall that happened to him at the start of this week at his residence in Bugolobi.
Ssebagala was also recently widowed after his wife and owner of the Tipsy Chain of Food Restaurants passed on.
Ssebagala was from prominent Ssebagala family of Kisaasi and Kawempe that also includes Kawempe South MP Latif Ssebagala as well as Kampala Woman MP Nabbilah Naggayi.
The former Mayor is remembered for being the first politician to be jailed abroad over money laundering charges.
