Rubongoya: If you Want to be Rich so fast, be Close to Bobi Wine

Lewis Rubongoya

People Power planner David Lewis Rubongoya has said a number of Ugandans have turned Robert Kyagulanyi into a lucrative business.

Rubongoya who is also National Unity Platform (NUP) Secretary General said he knows individuals who have sold their pictures with Kyagulanyi to the State.

“We have seen many come, take pictures with him and use them to trick the State into ‘buying’ them but we know them and we don’t care,” Rubongoya said.

He was appearing on NTV on Thursday morning to discuss the woes of his party particularly the dilemma of vetting flagbearers, a process that pits candidates against NUP leadership.

Rubongoya added that Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine who is commonly referred to as “principal” is a lucrative business and sells like a hot cake.

He said the regime has been paying hefty sums of cash to whoever claims to deflate Bobi Wine.

A composed Rubongoya and very articulate scoffed at former People Power members who defected to NRM and promised to fail the principal that they are wasting their time.

A number of NUP members has recently turned against the party and declared allegiance to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) citing a number of factors.

Veteran current affairs analyst Basajja Mivule, promoter Andrew Mukasa commonly known as Bajjo are among the latest members to switch political camps.

Commenting on these recent defections, Rubongoya said that this is something they have learnt to live with, because the party’s principal is a ‘hot-cake’.
