Gender Minister Mwesigwa Rukutana has dismissed reports that he has been rounded by the military on allegations of shooting an FDC member Dan Rweiburingi.
In a video spreading wildly on internet, Mr Rukutana who reportedly lost the NRM primaries to Naome Kabasharira for Rushenyi County is seen grabbing a gun from his bodyguard and aiming it at unidentified people in a car before he is disarmed.
Responding to this illicit act which the public has widely condemned, Rukutana told the media that he was defending himself from strangers who attacked him from his farm.
But the video moving around shows that the altercation could have happened in a road.
Rukutana clarified that the incident had occurred on Friday. But people on ground said the commotion happened on Saturday.
Reports further suggested that Rukutana had been arrested by the SFC.
Speaking to this website, he refuted the arrest saying he is at his farm in Rushenyi enjoying karo and shabwe, his favourite meal.
The Rushenyi election has been one of the most violent in the country with three days of total chaos.
