Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has made more changes in the Customs Department and transferred 20 customs staff and fleet assistants.
The reshuffle has affected among others two senior officers who were exposed by this investigative website as behind an inside racket that cost URA and government tax collections.
On July 4, this website ran a story titled “Investigation: Inside URA Syndicate that is costing Government Tax Collections” in which we reported that the unscrupulous cabal that is costing URA money is headed by the enforcement team.

The enforcement teams are led by two senior managers, Ivan Kakaire, the Manager of Enforcement and Peter Sebyoto , Head of Surveillance team while Agnes Nabwire, is the Assistant Commissioner Enforcement.
The URA top administration didn’t take the story lightly but embarked on investigations which resulted into transfers.
In the new reshuffle, Ivan Kakaire, the Manager of Enforcement has been sent to Northern Region while Peter Sebyoto, Head of Surveillance team has been taken to Fort portal.
The changes were made by Commissioner Customs Abel Kagumire.
