Exclusive: Man behind Ndeeba Church extinction Unmasked

The leadership of the Anglican Church in Uganda led by Archbishop Stephen Kazimba has come out to strongly condemn the demolition of Ndeeba Church which has been in existence for 49 years.

The church was razed down on Sunday night in presence of heavy police deployment to protect the demolishers from angry residents who exuded strong attachment to this piece of history.

On Monday pictures of the church ripped apart circulated widely attracting public condemnation as many Ugandans wondered which heartless individuals would destroy the house of God without fear.

It later emerged that police had arrested 11 suspects involved in the destruction along with 3 police officers who neglected duty.

Among the 11 suspects, 7 were Muslims and they include: Kawooya Mohammad, Bbosa Muniru, Kiberu Amza, Mutebi Abbasi, Bulega Ali, Matovu Simon ,Kalika Ali,  Mujuzi Andrew, Ssekito Badru, Isirinya John and Maruti Bashir.

The police officers involved are: DPC Katwe SP Epedu David, OC Station Ndeeba Police Station ASP Mugira Yeko Kato and Field Force Unit (FFU) Commander KMP/South Region ASP Isabirye Kaloli.

The cops were arrested by Col. Edith Nakalema who then informed the media that she acted on directives of the President who ordered that every public officer involved in the demolition should be held accountable.

Further Nakalema arrested KCCA acting director physical planning Ivan Katongole who is accused of ignoring the church’s side and issued a demolition order.

But Mr Katongole based his decision on a court order.

Lodoviko with President Museveni

However, what remained unreported was the person behind the whole exercise, his names, position, identity and motive.

WHO IS BEHIND NDEEBA CHURCH EXTINCTION?

TrumpetNews has reliably established that the man who financed the razing of the church is Lodoviko Mwanje, a very ambitious businessman who owns a couple buildings and land titles in Rubaga Division, Kampala.

Sometime back he met the President and their picture was shared on social media with many suggesting that he is identified as DODO.

However, Mr Lodoviko a staunch catholic chooses to live a quiet life.

But those close to him say he is very wealthy with a couple of business in real estate, agricultural production, transport, etc.

According to an official in Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) administration, Mr Lodoviko is the rightful owner of the land where Ndeeba Church has been.

This official explained that documents available indicate that the land was donated to the church by Late Evairini Nachwa and the Anglican church never possessed a land title.

Around 2008 the successors of Late Evairini Nachwa processed a land title of this land legally and then sold it to Lodoviko.

Lodoviko, then notified the church about the possession of the land title and offered it a grace period of 10 years to vacate his land because then he would be developing it.

The court order in favour of Lodoviko

However, church officials led by Bishop D Nsubuga, Rev Y.S Kitaka and E. Kizito fraudulently registered the land in their names after learning that the land belonged to lodoviko.

And through the successors of Late Evairini Nachwa who include Dan Ssemwanga, John Kajoba, Edward Balunga and Steven Nakibenge (rightful owners) Lodoviko dragged the Church and Commissioner Land Registration to court in 2019 and he won the case.

Court issued a permanent injunction restraining the defendants or anybody claiming through them from carrying out any activity from the suit land or alienating the same.

Our efforts to speak to Lodoviko remained unsuccessful as he couldn’t respond to our whatsapp messages before his phone was switched off.
