Kasekende’s Daughter aged 25 joins Politics

Former deputy governor of Bank Uganda Dr Louis Kasekende’s daughter Angella Kasekende, 25, has launched her bid for National Female Youth MP in the next general elections.

Contesting as an independent candidate, Kasekende said she reached the decision of joining parliament to inspire the youth to take responsibility of their own future.

“I have put myself forward because I have come to the decision that time is extremely limited and precious to contribute to change. Young people must take responsibility for their own futures and not be caught up in the blame game that is all too common today,” Kasekende said.

The candidate said that her campaign platform shall be Hope, Growth and Prosperity. “I intend to launch an ambitious program, to foster a million real jobs by reworking current and future programs, redirecting investment and creating viable   partnerships between education institutions, vocational centres, business and government.

Kasekende currently consults at the International Law Institute-Africa Centre for Legal Excellence (ILI-ACLE).

She has a Business degree from University of Portsmouth and a Masters in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Sussex.

She was also awarded the Young and Emerging Leadership fellowship,2019 by the Leo Africa Institute.
