INDOOR FITNESS TEST: Museveni Dares Ugandans on 40 Push-up Challenge

Museveni made 40 push-ups in new video

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has released another video to urging Ugandans to keep fit al home under a partial lockdown, after banning outdoor exercise in March to prevent further spread of Coronavirus.

In a one-minute and 30 second video published Wednesday on Twitter, the 75-year-old leader who is set to stand for another term in office, appears barefoot in a spacious office with a plush blue carpet, wearing a t-shirt.

“After work last night, I challenged my Bazukulu (grandchildren) to an indoor work-out;’ said Museveni.

“We did Forty Push-ups;’ he added.

At the age of 75, Museveni is keen on demonstrating his fitness amid calls by opposition to relinquish power on grounds of advanced age.

“Just like I have always advised, even at your own home, you can stay safe, and remain fit and healthy,” said Museveni this morning. Museveni can be seen in the video doing push-ups, placing his hands on a white towel. His two grandchildren later take up the challenge.

Unlike in the previous video also released on Museveni’s official social media handles, this time the camera does not cut away at one point. He completes his 4- push-ups with ease.

Uganda has a cumulative total of 1,195 COVID-19 confirmed cases and 5 deaths.
