Founding FDC President Dr Kizza Besigye has said it was “good relief “for MPs allied to Gen Mugisha Muntu to decamp and join him in his new party-the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT)

Speaking on a local TV station on Monday morning, Dr Besigye said he is not worried about the exit of the pro-Muntu MPs, and even questioned their popularity.
Dr Besigye argues that if the pro-Muntu MPs were popular, the former Army Commander would not have lost the FDC presidency to Patrick Amuriat Oboi.
Asked on whether he will be on the ballot to challenge President Museveni for a record fifth time, Dr Besigye responded that the FDC deadline for nominations for presidential flag bearer is August 6, saying that he will have made a decision by then.
However,Dr Besigye explained that he can only participate in a an election if it brings about change and not mere participation.
