Simon Kasyate, the Head of Communication and Corporate Affairs at Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) has resigned.
According to a notice from UEGCL, Kasyate resigned from “this position with effect from 17th July, 2020 after 4 monumental years of dedicated service at Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited.”
“Our best wishes to Simon in his endeavours ahead,” the notice reads.
The Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited is a parastatal company whose primary purpose is to generate electric power for use in Uganda and for sale to neighboring countries.
Without revealing details of his next journey, Kasyate said he “is off to new and exciting prospects.”
The veteran media guru joined UEGCL in 2016 and has since then remained unsettled. He has continuously been eyeing top executive positions including Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) where he was edged out by Lilly Ajarova as Executive Director. Kasyate also hosts the Desert Island Discs Program on Capital FM.
Prior to his appointment at Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited, Kasyate worked as Corporate Affairs Manager Eskom Uganda Limited -an electricity generation company. Before that, he worked as Press and Information officer at the European Union Delegation in Kampala.
