COVID-19 CRISIS: 14 new Cases confirmed, Total at 679

Just in: Uganda Confirms 2 new COVID-19 Cases; Patients are Tanzanian Truck Drivers

The Ministry of Health has Wednesday confirmed fourteen new COVID-19 cases from 2,321 samples tested on 10th June, 2020.

Six cases were among 1,260 samples tested from Points of Entry while eight were among 1,061 samples of alerts and contacts.

All confirmed cases are Ugandans. The total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Uganda is now 679.

Additionally, thirty (30) foreign truck drivers (19 Kenyans, 8 Tanzanians, 2 Eritreans and 1 Burundian) tested positive for COVID-19 and were handed over to their respective country of origin.

 Confirmed Cases:

 Three (03) of the confirmed cases are truck drivers who arrived from South Sudan via Elegu Point of Entry

Two (02) of the confirmed cases are truck drivers who arrived from Tanzania via Mutukula Point of Entry while one (01) case is a truck driver who arrived through Lamwo District.

Eight (08) of the confirmed cases 301 21130 and contacts to previously confirmed cases. These include: 3 contacts from Kampala who were under quarantine at the time of test, 2 cases from Amuru, 2 from Dokolo and 1 frorn Moyo Districts.

To-date, Uganda has registered a total of 120 COVID-19 recoveries and no COVID-19 related death recorded.
