The top administration of Ministry of Finance has invited Ministry of Health to test all its workers for Coronavirus following reports that some drivers at the ministry were found infected.
This website on Friday reported a driver who was chauffeuring a junior minister of Finance was found with COVID-19. The driver has since been admitted.
As a result, many of his close contacts were placed under quarantine.
The development came after Uganda’s Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda announced that he had decided to self isolate after his contacts tested positive.
It later emerged that some drivers at his office had also tested positive.
As of June 8th 2019, Uganda has 646 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
According to Health Ministry, Uganda has a total of 103 recoveries and no COVID-19 related deaths.
