Ministry of Health emergency response team has Friday morning evacuated four staff of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) on suspicion of being infected with COVID-19.
The officials have been taken for further management and their results will be announced later.
Speaking to this website, Peter Kawujju the KCCA publicity confirmed the news saying the administration was compelled to invite health officials when the workers expressed suspicion that four of their colleagues had COVID-19 symptoms.
“Yes it is true. The four were evacuated by the response team and situation has come back to normal. We continue to observe Ministry of Health guidelines,” Mr Kawujju said.
He dismissed reports that KCCA premises were cordoned off and no staff was allowed to move out.
Kampala has since become an epicenter of community infections after 7 tested positive according to results from Ministry of Health.
