The total number of Coronavirus cases in Uganda is now 222 following 10 new infections registered Monday.
According to Health Ministry 9 cases are from point of entry while 1 is a contact to a previously confirmed truck driver.
Ministry of Health says the contact was under quarantine at the time of test.
The new cases were part of 1189 samples that were tested today. Over 1500 people are under quarantine at 150 sites in the country.
A total of 30 truck drivers who tested positive for the virus have been handed over to home country authorities.
Earlier Minister of Health Dr Ruth Aceng said Uganda also blocked the entry of 5 Tanzanian truck drivers who tested positive at Mutukula point of entry.
Dr. Aceng, the Minister of Health says it is risky for Uganda to treat foreigners because this was likely to strain health centers and also increase the risk of spreading the disease to Ugandans.
The new cases were confirmed hours to partial lifting of lockdown after President Museveni agreed to allow private vehicles move.
Uganda has been under lockdown for 55 days.
The health ministry has tested over 18,400 people within different communities as part of the Rapid Community Assessment that was targeting 23,000 Ugandans.
