Museveni: I’ve Scientifically Proven, 2kgs of Posho can Feed 1 Person for 10 days

Museveni demonstrating to Cabinet his posho experiment.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has demonstrated to cabinet ministers that it is possible for an individual to feed on 2.6 kilograms of posho for 10 days.

Museveni, says in his research he established that a person can have 250 grams of posho per meal everyday.

His research was prompted by the current condition where Uganda and other countries in the world are battling Coronavirus as a global pandemic.

As a mitigation measure, several countries including Uganda implemented a lockdown to curtail movements of people to regulate the transmission of the virus.

So far, Uganda has been locked for 49 days which has affected lives of whose existence is considered as “hand to mouth.”

To respond to this crisis, government has therefore embarked on supplying relief food to those affected.

However, the individuals insist that the food is not enough.

Their revelation prompted Museveni to invest in research to ascertain how many days can the food distributed support Ugandans.

“I asked the kitchen staff to prepare 1kg of the maize flour from the food being distributed by the COVID-19 relief team. My intention was to understand how an individual can consume this food optimally during this period.

The scientific conclusion we have arrived at is that 250gs of Posho is optimal for consumption in this situation, this means that for 2.6kgs of posho, about 10 days are possible. Hence, if each individual can consume about 250gs of the relief Posho per meal, you can obtain enough calories to enable you to considerably survive for quite some time.  The food should not be consumed wastefully,” said Museveni on Monday as he demonstrated to cabinet.
