Government Authorizes Businessman Kavuya to Bring Family from U.S over COVID-19

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon Sam Kutesa has allowed wealthy businessman Ben Kavuya to evacuate his family from America as the country continues to suffer the wrath of Coronavirus.

Kutesa wrote Ethiopian Airlines that the family of Kavuya will be allowed to fly into the country via chartered flight on Monday May 18.

The Ministry of Health has also approved legacy Apartments in Bugolobi as a quarantine facility for Kavuya’s Family.

The three family members of the tycoon are Barbra Kavuya, Blanche Kibaju and Isaiah Tiba Byabashaija.

Legacy Apartments belong to Mr Kavuya, a close associate of Secretary to the Treasury Keith Muhakanizi.

The Director General of health services Dr Henry Mwebesa said the Ministry had inspected the facility and its suitable.

The family will fly into the country on Monday where a car will be waiting for them and they drive themselves to Bugolobi where they will remain in isolation for 14 days. During this period, he said that the family members will be tested for coronavirus.
