The Minister of Health has Thursday announced 21 more new case of COVID-19 confirmed from 1593 samples of truck drivers.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 160 in Uganda.
The new cases, the ministry says is are Ugandans, Kenyans, Tanzanians and South Sudanese who arrived via Mutukula, Busia and Elegu borders.
The 21 new cases is the highest number of new infections Uganda has recorded in a day.
The ministry says all 303 community samples tested negative.
As cargo drivers entering continue posing a threat to Uganda there is growing frustration among Ugandans who think that with new cases shooting up chances of lifting the lockdown are minimal.
So far Uganda has seen 63 COVID-19 patients recover and no deaths.
