A Community Liaison Officer for Kiira Division Police Station has been held incommunicado by Military Intelligence on allegations of espionage, TrumpetNews has learnt.
According to the available information, Akakwandano while at his desk was summoned by the Regional Police Commander Kampala South.
“On arrival at the RPC’s office he was put in a waiting car with CMI operatives and driven off,” a source who asked not to be named said.
Whereas no police official is willing to divulge details of his arrest, a source said Akandwanaho is accused of spying for Rwanda, an accusation this website is yet to verify.
He was arrested 11 days ago. No one from the family has been allowed to access Akandwanaho.
Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson when asked said he would verify the information and get back but he didn’t.
Army Publicist Brig. Richard Karemire who also speaks for Military Intelligence when contacted yesterday said he will check and revert today Monday.
When contacted he said he is in a meeting.
CMI Head Maj Gen Abel Kandiho couldn’t reply our whatsapp messages although he saw them.
But a senior police officer who knows about Akandwanaho’s arrest but asked to remain unnamed said it could be true he is CMI’s custody.
However, he doesn’t know his crime.
This website is following up this matter and will publish more details as events unfold.
In the recent past CMI cracked whip on police by arresting rogue cops who were conspiring with Rwanda. Some of these officer like Nixon Agasirwe until to date are still in military custody.
