Western Uganda’s famous Radio Presenter ‘Kazimoto’ Commits Suicide at Min. Tumwebaze’s Radio Station

Kazimoto is dead

Bernard Tumuhimbise, a popular radio host in Western Uganda has Saturday been found dead behind the premises of Nyumbani FM in Rwamwanja, Kamwenge District which is owned by Gender Minister Frank Tumwebaze.

Tumuhimbise alias Kazimoto committed suicide, according to the officials of the station.

Minister Tumwebaze confirmed the sad of news of his employee wondering why a sober man had take his life at such a young age.

However, Tumwebaze disputed rumors which circulated earlier that Kazimoto had hung himself at his village farm.

“That is propaganda, he didn’t die at my farm. He was found dead behind the radio station premises,” Minister Frank Tumwebaze told TrumpetNews Saturday evening.

Those known to Kazimoto say he was depressed and resorted to heavy alcohol drinking.

We understand Kazimoto failed efforts to rehabilitate him.

He was fired from Rwenzori FM in Ibanda because of alcohol.

A close friend at Rwenzori radio station says Kazimoto’s woes began immediately when he lost his wife 3 years ago.

“He became widely depressed and resorted to alcohol,” said a friend.

Kazimoto made a name by hosting political talk-shows on radios in Western Uganda like Endigyito FM in Mbarara, Rwenzori FM which shifted base to Ibanda and also Nyumbani.

By press time Police had taken his body for postmortem as burial arrangements are underway.
