The leader of Zoe Ministries in Uganda, Pastor Elvis Mbonye who in the recent times has come under immense criticism over false prophecies has responded saying he will not contribute anything towards those affected by the lockdown.
Mbonye in an interview with journalist Solomon Sserwanja said a clique of Ugandans have deliberately sponsored negative reports about him with an aim of denting his image as a false prophet.
He said, the same clique of these “powerful people in government” are peddling lies against him with a motive of dragging him into jail.
Mbonye said he was shocked to learn that a daily newspaper carried a headline which misquoted him on the immunization vaccine which prompted police to summon him for questioning.
However, Mbonye stands his ground saying he had a vision on the COVID-19 disease and made a veiled warning to his followers that Uganda was about to be hit by a flu-like pandemic.
In the interview he also claimed he prophesied that the country would undergo a 14-day lockdown.
Asked why he couldn’t publicly reveal these prophecies, Mbonye said some vision are meant for himself.
In the same interview he challenged the interviewer to dig up and establish the people behind malicious reports.
“Go and investigate, your findings will be shocking. It is more than what you think,” said Mbonye.
On whether he will donate to the fight for COVID-19, Mbonye said he would have donated but again the people who will receive his contribution are same individuals orchestrating machination and character assassination with a motive of bringing him down.
“So how will they receive my donation? Won’t they say other bad things? So for that reason I will not,” he said.
As to why he claims the clique fights him, Mbonye said “they are scared of me.”
