COVID-19 Cases Rise to 81 as 2 test Positive in Rakai

Just in: Uganda Confirms 2 new COVID-19 Cases; Patients are Tanzanian Truck Drivers

The Ministry of Health has Wednesday registered 2 new COVID-19 cases out of the 229 samples tested among the community and individuals under quarantine in Rakai District.

Both cases are males; a Ugandan aged 24 and a 21-year old- Burundian refugee.

The duo is a contact of the Burundian refugee who previously tested positive at Mutukula border on arrival from Tanzania.

They are under quarantine at Rakai hospital as they are contacts to a confirmed Burundian refugee case.

So far, 81 people have been tested positive for the virus in Uganda, with 62 discharged after successful treatment.
