On April 19, I came under malicious online report by TrumpetNews which tried to link me to the Covid 19 food procurement, purportedly arising out of an investigation, in a widely circulated article titled “Richard Masereje the man at the centre of the Covid-19 food scandal.”
For clarity, I am not an employee of OPM in any way and I have not at all in any way been involved in the Covid-19 Food procurement by OPM.
The author alleged that I was the mastermind in organizing meetings to execute the fraudulent dealings. I want to state that;
I have not been to any of the said hotels in over 6 months (in Bugolobi to be specific) and I do not know or have any dealings with any of the companies mentioned or any other company making supplies to OPM under Covid 19.
Bulambuli Land Acquisition:
With respect to the Bulambuli land acquisition, I want to set the record straight that;
In 2013, I was contracted by OPM as Consultant Transaction Advisor for a specific transaction which was successfully concluded and closed.
All the allegations that were subsequently raised about that transaction were investigated by the various Organs of government including the IGG and even the Parliamentary Committee on the Presidency, and they were all found to be false.
The government took possession of the land and has since constructed the houses for resettlement, which were commissioned by non other than the President.
