Minister of Health Ruth Aceng announced the development.

A Kenyan truck driver aged 27, has Sunday tested positive for Coronavirus, Ministry of Health has confirmed.

He is among the 1114 truck drivers from different border lines whose samples were taken for testing at Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI).

“One new case confirmed among 1,114 truck drivers today,” Health Minister Jane Ruth Aceng said on Twitter.

“The new case is a 27 year old Kenyan truck driver who arrived at Malaba border and efforts are underway to track him and evacuate him back to Kenya,” she added.

Because he will be repatriated, Uganda doesn’t count him among the local cases meaning the total number of infections registered remain at 55.
