It was joy and cheer at Entebbe General Hospital on Monday as nine people, previously admitted were discharged after recovering fully from Coronavirus.

According to the authorities, the 10th patient from Kalangala who also recovered will be discharged after his community has been prepared to receive him.

As of today Uganda has released 37 people who have been treated and have since tested negative which convinces clinicians that they should be discharged.

The Coronavirus confirmed cases remain at 55 with three foreigners (a Tanzanian and two Kenyans) who tested positive for the virus on arrival in Uganda. Two have already been tracked and arrangements were underway to return them to their countries for treatment.

17 active cases remain in hospital for treatment.

The new recoveries include five Watoto choir members, three of their caretakers and the boda boda man who had been admitted with COVID-19, according to reports.
