Business Abid Alam has been rearrested by security detectives in a joint operation conducted by police and State House Anti-Corruption Unit and immediately taken to Buganda Road Court.
Last week, the tycoon who faces 27 criminal counts was arrested by Col. Edith Nakalema but was later released on bond. He is accused of sanctioning crimes against the residents of Kasanda in Mityana District where his employees unleashed animosity by destroying locals’ banana plantations and demolishing their houses.
Nakalema would later arrest four policemen who were allegedly conspiring with the businessman to elude justice.
They include: Regional CID Officer Wamala, SP. Wanyama Wilber Ostin, DPC Kasanda ASP Owellano Daincl, OC CID Kasanda ASP Beitcra Peter and In charge CID Records Wamala Sgt Azale.
The four cops have also been taken to court along with Mr Abid.
