President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has banned all outdoor jogging, which had become a behavior during the 14-day lockdown.
President Museveni issued a Presidential directive starting April 1 asking all Ugandans to stay home, halting nearly all public activities in a bid to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
With masses at home, idle and observing the lockdown and too much time on their hands, many took to taking strolls and jogging to keep fit.
However, this healthy practice, according to Museveni will endanger the community because it’s against the safety practice of “social distancing.”
Pictures of hordes of people doing exercises on the Northern Bypass oblivious of the dangers of close-body mixing surfaced on social media.
To deter numbers from surging, Museveni asked all joggers to exercise from home.
“I will send you a video of how you can exercise from home. I don’t want to see anyone jogging,” Museveni said.
