Retired UPDF soldier Maj. Gen. Kasirye Ggwanga has Tuesday been rushed to the army hospital at the head offices in Mbuya, Kampala for treatment.
Without disclosing details of the illness, the military publicist Brig. Richard Karemire said experts were diagnosing Ggwanga and would later ascertain cause of the sickness.
“It will be diagnosed by the competent people,” said Karemire.
Karemire had earlier clarified on Twitter the whereabouts of Mr Ggwanga after reports suggested that he was under military arrest.
“Maj Gen(Rtd) Kasirye Gwanga has been admitted to the UPDF Senior Officers Diagnostic Centre based in Mbuya. Doctors are taking care of him and there is no reason to speculate on his current whereabouts. He is not under any form of arrest,” Karemire tweeted.
This is a developing story.
