COVID-19: UPC Shuts Down Offices Globally

Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) has suspended operation in Uganda and across the world following the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country.

Nine cases have so far been confirmed by Ministry of Health.

The UPC Secretary General Hon. Fred Ebil has since issued a communique announcing temporary closure of all party offices worldwide in a bid to prevent the spread of this pandemic.

“Following the onset of a Coronavirus globally and now to a section of the citizenry numbering 9 confirmed cases. there is general discomfort and agitation within the country,” his letter reads in part.

Adding that: “the Uganda Peoples Congress has therefore decided to coordinate its activities and communication online and suspended all physical engagement activities beginning today. 24 March 2020, until further notice.”

UPC appeals to the general public to adhere to Ministry of Health guidelines to ensure safety in a relentless fight COVID-I 9 and other deadly diseases.
