President Yoweri Museveni is set to address the nation again on Tuesday following the confirmation of 8 new cases of in Uganda.

The senior presidential secretary Don Wanyama says he will address the nation at 4pm and his address will be carried live on TVs and Radios.

In a tweet message, Museveni says he address the country about what further steps to take to curb a possible spread of the virus.

Last night the ministry of Health confirmed 8 new cases after Ugandans who arrived into the country from Dubai aboard Ethiopian Airlines tested positive.

On Saturday Uganda registered its first.

The 36 –year-old Ugandan is currently admitted at Entebbe Grade B hospital. Ministry of Health officials say he is steadily improving.

The total number of patients is nine.

President Museveni has since shut down Entebbe Airport and banned passenger flights into the country and entry through any border by any means.

This is part of the new measures aimed at curbing the further spread of Coronavirus following reported violation of earlier guidelines on travelers.

In today’s address, the President is expected to announce more strictest measures in combating this virus.

Asked if he will declare a lockdown, Mr Wanyama said he couldn’t confirm.
