President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has stopped operation of a couple of businesses in Uganda as a means of preventing spread of Coronavirus.
Addressing the nation on Wednesday evening, the President has listed a number of areas which will stop with immediate effect.
These include all schools ranging from kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and universities in Uganda. Museveni said the schools harbor young and fragile people who could be prone to the virus.
He also advised that churches close with immediate effect, same to bars, weddings and political rallies.
The President said the ritual of washing dead bodies should stop as it exposes people to the virus in case the deceased was infected.
He further said burials should be attended by a few close relatives.
For public transport he advised that travelers should travel when necessary.
Markets, hotels and factories will remain operating.
