Former Premier Amama Mbabazi was Friday afternoon at Entebbe State House to welcome the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Portal Welby who is Uganda at the invitation of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Archbishop Welby will Sunday preside over the enthronement of the new Archbishop of Church of Uganda, Stephen Kaziimba.
“I welcome the Most Reverand, Lord Archbishop Justin Portal Welby, the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury and the most senior bishop in the Church of England,” President Museveni announced on his Facebook page.
“I would like to thank His Grace for responding positively to my invitation to visit Uganda and officiate at the consecration and enthronement of Bishop Samuel Stephen Kazimba Mugalu, the 9th Archbishop of the Church of Uganda,” he added.
Mbabazi, his successor Hon Ruhakana Rugunda, Gen. Katumba Wamala and many other government officials graced the occasion.
