Daniel Kyeyune a resident of Nansana Town in Wakiso District was Tuesday night shot dead.
Reports which police is yet to verify suggest that Kyeyune was killed by an LDU constable who has since vanished.
But the UPDF which oversees this reserve force has vehemently refuted this version saying none of their staff fired a bullet.
The latest information from police indicates that the deceased is a son to a police constable who has served for several years.
Daily Monitor quotes Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson Patrick Onyango saying that police has since taken over Kyeyune’s burial.
“True, he was a son of our officer. Details of the burial arrangement are to be communicated in press release very soon,” Mr Onyango told Daily Monitor.
Without giving more details, Onyango says the father to the deceased has worked in police for a long time.
According to reports on social media, the shooting was triggered by a huge crowd of People Power Movement which passed through Nansana while returning from Ritah Nabukenya’s burial.
Nabukenya died Monday in a car accident.
This opposition group however, accused police car of deliberately knocking down a Boda Boda which carried Nabukenya.
Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine who leads this group further claimed Kyeyune as their own loyalist who was “murdered.”
