Sheikh Masudi Mutumba, the Imam of Lwemba Mosque in Lwemba Sub-county, Bugiri District has been shot dead by unidentified gunmen.
Mutumba was on his way home from prayers on Friday evening.
For a close to a decade now, 10 Muslim clerics have been fatally shot by unknown assailants.
