Guests at Nakasero based hotel- Pearl of Africa are terrified as chances are high that they will soon if not already share a bed with snakes and other venomous reptiles.
The facility will soon be completely covered by tall thick grass, one would think that the hotel has been turned into a breeding ground or a semi-national park of sorts.
“The place is abandoned. Soon the grass will cover one part of the hotel, for example the tennis court,” said a guest who looked completely terrified.
Pearl of Africa is owned by Mohammed Hamid, the chairman of AYA group.
The nonsense Sudanese national spends most of his time at this hotel but it remains shocking that he has left the multibillion investment to go to the dogs.
Guests further complained of the swimming pools being infested with frogs and have subsequently resorted to the in house pool, although they would love to swim and later sunbath.
A guest who visited Pearl of Africa had no kind words wondering why it continues to carry a name that describes Uganda’s beauty. She says generally the facility is in sorry state.
It remains unknown whether the proprietor is financially bleeding and can’t maintain his property or he simply doesn’t value this huge investment.
The staff who wished to remain unnamed said that if Hamid isn’t at the hotel then he is somewhere in a Casino having fun.
“May be he makes more money from gambling than the hotel,” said a worker.
This worker said only government can save the crumbling hotel.
Like a popular phrase nowadays…. Government where are you?
