Parliament of Uganda on Thursday turned into a boxing arena when Kilak County legislator Hon Anthony Akol unleashed a rain of fists on his colleague Odonga Otto whom he accused of misleading his constituents.

The mother of wars erupted in the lobby as a visibly charged Akol demanded answers as to why Otto has been telling the voters to reject him (Akol) once he attempts to contest in the coming election.

To make matters worse, Otto was soiling his colleague in his own constituency- Kilak in Amuru District.

Otto had over the weekend addressed a rally in the disputed Lakang land in Amuru and told voters that Akol and Chairman LCV had received over shs 300 million after selling land to government

Otto responded, “Indeed I said it and its true Hon Akol sold land of the poor people in Apaa.”

However, Akol said he had sold his own land.

“I went to prison to protect poor peoples land then you and MP sells it,” Otto replied.

His statement rubbed Akol who said he would “I act mad now” and he unleashed uncountable punches in just minutes.

It took the intervention of Gulu Municipality lawmaker Lyandro Komakech who held Akol.

Police was invited and the sergeant at arms called for ambulance to rush Hon.Otto to Nakasero Hospital.

By press time was still in hospital.
