On the 09th of Jan 2020 a case of alleged kidnap of two (2) children was reported at Banda Police post by one Kabali Hakim.
Jinja Road Police Station started investigating the matter and later established that ;
On the 7th of Jan 2020 one Golo Zarin Shamira approached her neighbours in Banda, that is Nandutu Violet and Nakesa Maureen to allow her take their children, Kalungi Vicent aged 2 and a half years and Kabalu Ismail 2 years old. According to the two mothers , she alleged that , she had a birthday party for her child and thus she needed their children to give company to her own child. The party was scheduled to take place later that day in Kireka Kiganda Zone and she promised to bring back the children at around 5 pm in the evening .
When she didn’t return by 5 pm like she had promised, the parents of the children called her and she deceived them that she had gone with the children to kayunga and subsequently switched off her phone.
Through investigations one Ali Bakaaki was traced and arrested. He claimed to be a friend to the suspect. He further confessed that the children were at his home.
Ali Bakaaki further stated that him and One Golo Zarin Shamira had been in a relationship for some time since around 2017. He claimed that after sometime the suspect Golo told him she had given birth to twins and thus when he asked to have them at his home, she brought the same children she had taken from her nieghbours.
The suspect One Zolo Zarin Shamira has since been arrested and she confesses to having committed the alleged offence.
The children/victims (Kalungi Vicent and Kabalu Isma) have been recovered from Sonde Mukono District and identified by their parents. We are to subject them to medical examination for possible assault or any other medical complication.
