Broke Tooro Princes David Kijjanangoma must be walking shoulders high after fortune knocked on his door in this terrible month of January as President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni issued a directive that will see the grassing royal cause inflation very soon.
Museveni ordered Foreign Ministry to find a job for Kijjanangoma and will also settle his debts.
In a letter dated November 11, 2019, Museveni said:
“I am happy that you stopped fighting King Oyo Nyimba,” the letter reads in part, in relation to Kijjanangoma’s fight against the Kingdom.
In 2015, he accused the monarch of abdicating his throne to stay in Kampala and declared himself the new king of Toro. His move would be blocked by court.
But if Kijjanangoma doesn’t have papers to work at the Ministry, Museveni promised to buy him land for farming.
Museveni also directed the State House comptroller, Lucy Nakyobe, to get Kijjanangoma a rented house for a year and settle his old debts. The letter adds that he should get a monthly allowance of sh4m until he gets a job or goes into farming.
