Mohammed Mutumba an Imam/Sheikh of Kyampisi Village in Kayunga District has been left speechless after he discovered he married a man four days after the wedding- Nikah (legal marriage contract between man and woman) with his ‘wife Swabullah Nabukeera.

Daily Monitor reports Saturday that the newlywed couple hadn’t had sex as the ‘wife’ told the Imam that she had been hit by her monthly periods for two weeks.

Ms. Nabukeera was however, accused by neighbours of stealing a television set insisting that ‘she’ jumped over the wall that separates their bedroom.

The wall that separates the bedroom doesn’t reach the iron sheets neither does the house have a ceiling.

Nabukeera was dragged to police and together ‘her’ husband, Mutumba escorted her.

The district CID officer Isaac Mugera asked Nabukeera to be searched before ‘she’ could be sent to the cells.

The officer was instead ‘paralyzed’ to learn that the Imam’s ‘wife’ had grown a man’s genitals.

The Imam was called to bear witness as he saw that he had all along married a fellow man after paying dowry which included two goats, two bags of sugar, three busuutis, a carton of salt and a Koran.

“As the police’s normal practice, a female police officer, searched the suspect thoroughly before taking ‘her’ to the cells. However, to the shock of the officer, the suspect had stacked clothes in the bra to hoodwink that they were breasts,” Mugera told Daily Monitor.

“On further search, we discovered that the suspect had male genitals. We quickly informed ‘her’ husband who had escorted her to the police station,” he said.

Mugera said they later interrogated Ms Nabukeera, who revealed his real name as Richard Tumushabe, 27.

Mugera added that Tumushabe told police that he had duped Mr Mutumba that he is a woman in a bid to get his money.
