People Power Movement Leader Hon. Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi has vowed to storm Electoral Commission (EC) head offices in Kampala demanding answers why security agencies continue to suppress his consultative meetings.

The Presidential aspirant had earlier been cleared by EC to consult the electorate ahead of his planned Presidential campaigns but police has for the third time barred him from meeting his supporters.

Three days ago, police couldn’t allow him to launch the exercise in Gayaza township as he spent the whole day in Naggalama police cells.

The Forces spokesperson CP Fred Enanga explained that Kyagulanyi aka Bobu Wine failed to harmonize his programme with minimum standards of Public Order Management Act (POMA).

Kasangati DPC later said the grounds where Bobi Wine intended to host his supporters don’t have toilets.

His planned Gulu meeting on Tuesday was called off, but all the same, police had besieged the venue.

On Wednesday, whereas he vowed to attend his third meeting in Lira town, security deployed heavily on Grand Pacific Hotel where the event was due to take place.

Police later arrested Bobi Wine, whisked him out of Lira Town and ‘dumped’ him at Karuma Bridge.

“As always, these cowards drove us in circles in a police vehicle and abandoned us at Karuma bridge. Our determination to redeem our country only grows by day! We are energised by the support of the people of Lira and all those we found along the way.

Tomorrow morning, we head to the Electoral Commission’s head offices to demand for answers about the continued blockage of these consultations. We are deliberate on exhausting all legal avenues! The election cycle has started. We are demanding for a level playing field to take on Mr. Museveni,” he posted on his Facebook page.

Electoral Commission Spokesperson Jotham Taremwa when asked about Bobi Wine’s visit to the commission said: “we have invited presidential aspirants who wrote to us requesting to consult to come to the commission so that we harmonize on both our guidelines and their programs.”
