Prominent Ugandans residing in leafy Luzira, a high-end suburb of Kampala are protesting over a health hazard likely to arise out of a stench from Mike Mukula’s security company situated in the middle of this residential area.
According to the residents, Arrow Security Company is located on Kabelega Drive in Luzira in the middle of posh apartments and palatial homes of Ugandan businessmen, army Generals and top government officials who no longer have peace but are rather are fed on noise pollution and stench from Mukula’s Canine Section which has since spread to the nearby areas.
“That Kabalega drive is occupied by very prominent people who only want peace. They have complained over the dogs which bark from 6pm to 6am and also the stench arising out of their kennels where Mukula breeds puppies all the time,” said a resident.
This website learnt that efforts by the Local Council Chairman of the area to reign in on Mukula were unsuccessful because he has completely eluded them, “when we contacted Mukula he showed no remorse neither is he willing to sit to sit with us to settle this matter amicably.”
For example, Deputy UPDF Commander Gen. Wilson Mbadi and Gen. Joram Mugume are among those high profile residents who are affected by the dogs’ stench.
But however, a renowned businessman Kenneth Mugisha whose apartments are adjacent to this security company is losing out business as expatriates who have been occupying them can’t put their health at risk.
We have learned that each apartment is rented at $1400 monthly but the occupants are on their way out because of the stench.
“Mike Mukula can’t understand that some people are losing out business. Instead of sitting with them, he simply eludes them,” another resident added.
