Three suspects arrested Sunday in joint security operation have confessed to eliminating social worker Maria Naggirinya after bagging a paltry 500000 shillings.

The suspects made confessions on Monday after police took them back to the scene where Naggirinya was kidnapped along with her driver Ronald Katayimbwa a fortnight ago.

The killers, according to media reports, were hired by unknown person who asked them to take Naggirinya’s life.

The three heartless men told police that they shared the money and each took shs 170000. The whole amount was shs 500000,” reports Bukedde TV on Monday night.

As to why the person who hired the killers wanted Naggirinya dead remains unknown since the suspects don’t have clue on his/her identity.

Naggirinya was kidnapped in Lungujja as she returned home from work. Together with the driver she was whisked away and their bodies were later discovered in Mukono on Kayunga road.

On Sunday security operatives from both Police and the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) have arrested the prime suspects in a major breakthrough.

Earlier police released CCTV footage showing a man wearing a white shirt, a red coat and a cap on his head driving Nagirinya’s vehicle, a Toyota Spacio, registration number UBA570V.

“Based on intelligence, a raid was carried out in Nateete and arrested three prime suspects in a hideout including the man whom we saw in a red jacket driving Nagirinya’s vehicle,” police publicist told the media on Monday at a news conference

“We have exhibited the clothing we recovered from them as we interrogate them further for more details,” he added.
