Residents of Nakituruli village in Mukono District have Friday afternoon recovered a body of unidentified woman suspected to Mariam Nagirinya who was kidnapped on Wednesday night outside her gate in Lungujja, Rubaga a Kampala suburb.
According to reports, Nagirinya had returned from work on Wednesday at around 11:00pm when unidentified men abducted her.
“She reached the gate and by the time I opened, I saw two men in her car and she was shouting; ‘don’t take me…..help’, I was stuck and didn’t know what else to do,” media reports suggested.
The family reported a case of Kidnap under reference 04/29/08/2019.
Speaking to this website on Friday, Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire said police hadn’t confirmed that Nagirinya’s body had been recovered and therefore, “we will not conclude,” he said.
Ms Nagirinya has been a project manager at Community Integrated Development Initiative (CIDI), a Kampala-based non-governmental organisation.
