Bishop Kazimba Replaces Ntagali as Archbishop of CoU

Mityana Diocese Bishop Samuel Kazimba has been elected the new Archbishop of the Province of the Church of Uganda.

The House of Bishops convening at Lweza, Wakiso District in a retreat elected Kazimba.

The 37-member bloc is responsible for choosing the Archbishop of the Anglican Church.

The man of God becomes the 9th head of the Anglican Church in Uganda after his predecessor Ntagali bows out as his term ends next year in March.

An archbishop can only serve for 10 years according to the Church’s constitution or relinquishes the post upon reaching the age cap- 65 years.

Ntagali has only served for seven years. He quits office because age won’t allow him unless he abrogates the constitution.
