Rwandan security forces deployed at the border on Friday night shot two people dead in Rukiga district as border conflict continues to escalate, this website has reliably learnt.

The deceased were identified as Kyerega, a Rwandan businessman and Alex Atuheire a Ugandan.

According to a source in Ugandan security forces, two Rwandan soldiers at around 8pm pursued Mr. Kyerege who attempted to cross into Uganda while riding a motorcycle.

“They opened fire at a close range, shot and killed the man at Misavu trading center in Kamwezi, Rukiga District at the border between Uganda and Rwanda,” said a source.

As they attempted to flee the crime scene these soldiers on rampage shot another man who was later identified as Alex Atuheire a Ugandan.

Atuheire was rushed to Kabale Hospital where he succumbed to multiple injuries.

“Ugandan police is trying to manage the situation in regard to the incident and the two bodies of the deceased are at the Police in Misavu trading center. The Rwandan soldiers managed to run away into Rwanda,” added a source.

No officials from Rwanda security were willing to comment on this matter.
